Trula from Kansas has made 10 of these States Quilts #533-one for each of her ten grandchildren. Although the pattern shows a hexagon layout, Trula chose to make them as rectangles. Each of the 50 State patterns shows the state Bird and State Flower and when it was admitted into the union. It looks like she colored the birds and flowers with crayons-much quicker than embroidery. (we recommend Prang crayons for colored quilts #64). What a wonderful legacy for her grandchildren.
